The basic State Pension is usually paid to people who qualify for it by having paid, are treated as having paid, or are credited with, National Insurance contributions for a certain number of years.

Additional State Pension

 

The additional State Pension (also known as State Second Pension) is an additional pension to your basic State Pension. For more information on the Additional State Pension visit the Directgov website.

State Pension Age Calculator


To use the State Pension Age Calculator all you have to do is enter your date of birth and whether you are male or female. Your retirement date will be displayed on screen.

 

State Pension Forecast

 

An individual pension forecast will tell you the current value of the State Pension you have already earned and the amount you can expect at State Pension age. You will find a forecast helpful if you are trying to plan your pension. You can get a State Pension Forecast form from the resource centre in The Pension Service website. 
 
Or you can apply for one over the phone by calling the Retirement Pension Forecasting Team on 0845 3000 168 (textphone 0845 3000 169). They will fill in the forecasting form with you over the phone.
