Problems from Construction Sites

The authority investigates complaints relating to construction activities to minimise pollution caused by noise, dust and other nuisances.

Construction activity can often lead to disturbance for existing residents, either by noise, smoke or dust.  The Council will investigate complaints about construction activity, and where an unreasonable level of impact occurs, require the builders to limit their activity.

For large civil engineering projects, or where it is likely that disturbance to residents will occur, the Council will also discuss with the developer/building contractor measures to minimise the impacts before the work starts.
