Enforcement Policy Consultation

South Staffordshire Council is currently reviewing it's Enforcement Policy.

The Enforcement Policy is an "umbrella" policy and is intended to apply to all service areas (excluding civil parking enforcement which is a county council function and therefore outside the scope of this policy) though it should be noted that various additional service-specific requirements may apply to specific enforcement activities in certain services.

The Council is responsible for enforcing a wide range of legislation that may affect individuals, organisations or businesses residing or operating within our District.

The purpose of enforcement is to protect the public, the environment and groups such as consumers and workers, etc. Enforcement can include offering advice and assistance as well as more formal action such as serving Notices or taking prosecution.

We would therefore welcome your views on the Council’s proposals for a revised Enforcement Policy and to assist you I have enclosed a copy of our draft policy for you to look at and make comment on.

Consultation closes at 5p.m. 17th November 2015
