South Staffordshire Council own and manage Barnfield Sandbeds in Brewood

The site is a tremendous natural resource and haven for wildlife.  We have worked hard to improve access through the site, installed impressive entrance features and interpretation boards, undertaken essential but minimal tree works and cleared fly tipping and industrial waste.  We will continue to ensure that all work carried out will be sensitive to the existing nature of the site.

Visit the website of the Friends of Barnfield SandbedsThe Friends of Barnfield Sandbeds are a very active group who play a key part in the running of the site.  They hold monthly meetings and work parties, and also organise regular events to investigate and discover the rich and varied wildlife on the site.  The group help to forge a strong link between the Council and the local community, and also assist with day-to-day tasks in relation to the way the site is managed.

They are always on the lookout for new members and would welcome anyone who is interested in finding out more about their work or joining in on site!

For further information on their events please contact the Friends Group Chairman on (01902) 851207.
