Strawberry Lane Cemetery in Great Wyrley officially opened in July 2013.

The simple but effective design will be similar to the existing cemetery at Sytch Lane in Wombourne, combining the practical needs of a cemetery along with conservation and habitat creation.  The site will eventually deliver 8,000 burial plots and it is anticipated that it will provide burial space for the next 50 years.

Sitting next to a Local Nature Reserve - the Wyrley and Essington canal, panoramic views of rural Staffordshire can be seen from the new cemetery site.

The new cemetery site welcomes people of all cultures and faiths, and will be managed by Bereavement Services at the Council Offices in Codsall who will provide an expert, professional service and advice.

The site is open every day of the year during the following times:

Summer Opening Times Winter Opening Times
1st April to 30th September 1st October to 31st March
Daily 9:00am to 8:00pm Daily 9:00am to 4:30pm

(Please note that staff will begin to lock the gates 15 minutes prior to the stated closing time)

For those using a Sat-Nav to get to the site, the postcode for the Cemetery is WS6 7AU.
