The scheme, funded through a grant from
Central Government will provide interest free loans to households
who through no fault of their own are struggling to pay their
mortgage or rent.
Who Can Apply?
The following households are eligible to
- If you live within the South Staffordshire
- Are threatened with homelessness due to rent
or mortgage arrears which have accrued due to a loss of income
- You are prepared to act on money or debt
advice that has led to the mortgage or rent arrears accruing in the
first place, or to ensure that repayments are more affordable
following intervention of an advisor.
However loans will be used to support those
households who genuinely cannot pay as distinct from those who
choose not to pay.
How Do I Apply?
In the first instance you will need to see a
member of the Council’s Housing Options Team. They will
assess your case and agree with you the appropriate action for your
