Temporary new permitted development rights

The Government has extended the permitted development (PD) rights for householders and those looking to run a small business. The new rights will currently expire on 30 May 2019.

 

The full text of the law that granted these new rights is available from the link below.

 

Householders

 

These new rights grant automatic planning permission for single-storey rear extensions of between four and eight metres for detached dwellings, and between three and six metres for other dwellings. Please complete a householder enquiry form, available from the link here or at the bottom of the page.

 

Small business owners

 

These new rights allow small businesspeople to change the use of many buildings to a commercial or light industrial use.  Please click the link below for guidance notes and the prior notification form.
