A small and attractive little village about 3½ miles from Cannock with picturesque old houses and a Church (St. Mary's) which still retains its fine 14th Century tower with its band of ancient ornament.

Nothing remains of the Chapel and tombs of the Swynnerton’s except two effigies (apart) of Sir Humphrey and his Lady. One of the former Vicars of the parish was the Rev. W. H. Havergal, father of Frances Ridley Havergal (1860-1876). The Church possesses a fine carillon of six bells.

Shareshill boasts the Havergal Place development which was the overall winner in the 2008 South Staffordshire Council Conservation and Design Awards.

The village still retains the five key elements of sustainability, a pub, church, school, rural bus service and a shop/post office which is the first community shop in Staffordshire run by the villagers with any profits going back into the community.

The village hall is home to the Shareshill W.I,Shareshill bowls club, luncheon club and various arts/crafts and church groups. The popular village fete takes place on the sports field and attracts visitors from a wide area.

Farming still dominates the local landscape and the village is surrounded by a network of footpaths ideal for walking and enjoying the natural beauty of the area the canal to the west of shareshill attracts various forms of wild life, horse riding is also popular in the area with the bridlepaths and country lanes being used regularly for this activity.
