Bilbrook & Codsall Job Club
Over the last 12 months Bilbrook Work Club has kept in regular
contact with SSCVA about volunteering vacancies within our small
charity. During that time Val Chapman and Jane Carter have
supported 2 of their members to volunteer with our AT Home Project
(providing information about equipment to help people live more
independently in their daily lives).
Hilary has been volunteering with us now for 9 months and has
come on a great deal in terms of her confidence and self-belief, so
much so that within a month or two of volunteering with us she
successfully applied for her dream job and is now extremely happy
as well. Caroline is a more recent volunteer with us,
starting in April 2013 and has also built up her confidence and is
now applying for a job she is very keen on and is a very
enthusiastic addition to our team.
With Val & Jayne’s support through the Work Club both Hilary
and Caroline have taken huge steps to get them back into the
workplace and moving forwards with their lives. We are very
proud of what they have both achieved in such a short space of
time, and value them both greatly as volunteers, helping to make
the AT Home Project a success.
We have recently visited the work club to recruit more
volunteers and have 2 more individuals interested in joining
SSCVA. We will happily to continue to work with Bilbrook Work
Club to help them support their members back into employment.
