What we do


At South Staffordshire Council, we are committed to providing the highest standard of customer care, regardless of how you choose to contact us. Our Customer Service team provide first point of contact and access to the range of services the Council provides.


You can contact us by telephone, email, in person at our offices and even on twitter and facebook.  Our award-winning team of trained Customer Service Advisors can provide information or advice on any of your enquiries, or point you in the right direction. We also work in partnership with other external organisations to enhance the services we provide.

Our telephone lines are less busy between 2 and 4pm, a better time to call if you are in a rush.

  • Council Tax enquiries and payments
  • Housing Benefit applications and enquiries
  • Blue Badge applications and renewal
  • Waste & Recycling services
  • Office accommodation and room bookings

Making a payment:


You can make payments in the following ways:

  • Direct Debit
  • Online at  
  • You can pay by credit or debit card at our reception desk, or by cash/cheque in our payment box (unfortunately we will not be able to issue receipts for cash/cheque payments).
  • You can also make payments at your nearest Post Office or any Paypoint outlet – just take along your bar-coded bill.

Visitors can use the Council's café area between 8:45am and 3:00pm Monday to Friday. Visitors are also welcome to use the Council's canteen between 8:45am and 1:30pm Monday to Friday.

We understand just how busy life can get for lots of our residents. So, to lend a helping hand, we have come up with a much quicker and easier way in which customers can talk to us.


MyStaffs is a new mobile app which can be downloaded for free and is accessed using a smartphone or tablet.


So whether you need to report an issue, make a transaction or request information, simply download the free app and access key services anytime, anywhere...

How we are performing



PerformanceWe aim to:


- Answer 95% of calls we receive, and 70% of those within 30 seconds.

- Respond to your email within 24 hours.

- Keep you waiting no longer than 10 minutes to see an Advisor if you visit.


June 2016 performance:


We were particularly busy in June due to the EU Referendum.

We answered 93% of calls we received.

63% of calls were answered within 30 seconds of waiting for an Advisor.


Customers waited an average 6 minutes, to see an Advisor at our counters.


Customers contacting us in May were asked to give us feedback on our service. 80% were satisfied with the service they received.
